Atta ladoos are rich and savory. They can be eaten along with breakfast, snack or a dessert. They are very healthy and nutritious for kids too and keep them energetic for a long time. My mother in law makes these once a while for the kiddos and they like it.
Serves: 10 Ladoos
Preparation time: 2 mins.
Cooking time: 12 mins. + 15 mins. to make ladoos = 28-30 mins.
Ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons almonds
½ teaspoon cardamom powder
½ cup ghee or as required
Directions:
- Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan, roast the whole wheat flour until golden brown.
- Stir continuously to roast the flour evenly until you get a nice aroma. This would take around 10-12 minutes.
- Switch off the flame and when still warm, add in sugar, chopped almonds and cardamom powder.
- Mix well so that sugar is mixed evenly with the flour. Let the mixture cool for few minutes.
- When the heat is tolerable, divide the mixture into 10 equal portions and make round balls to form ladoos.
- If you are not able to form round balls, just heat a little ghee and add more to the mixture. Try again and you should be able to make it.
- Garnish with almonds on top of ladoo.
- Serve as is and store the remaining ladoos in airtight container.
Tips:
- Ladoos stay good for a 15 days when stored in airtight container during cold weather.
- When refrigerated, stays good for 1 month in hot weather as well.
- You can add in your choice of dry fruits, just chop them and add while adding almonds.
