“Paneer Kheer” is made with crumbled paneer / cottage cheese and cooking it in milk. It is a little different from Rice kheer, traditionally made in indian households but tastes as delicious. One more good thing about this kheer is that it can be eaten during fasting as per hindu mythology as well, like the vrat ke chawal ki kheer. I made it during navratri fasting and my hubby who is not a big fan of paneer in general, liked this new avatar of paneer and kheer.

Although the preparation is simple but recipe is a little elaborate, you have to be patient to make Dum Aloo but at the end it is all worth it. Pair it with roti, paratha or even rice and you won’t regret making this dish.

Pineapple Sheera | Pineapple Sooji Halwa | Pineapple Halwa | Pineapple Kesari
One of the delicacies served in south indian breakfast, and exceptionally tasty is “Pineapple Sheera”. “Pineapple sooji halwa” or “pineapple kesari” is made by roasted semolina and pineapple fruit, as the name suggests, and tastes divine. You can add saffron (kesari) to it for natural yellow color or skip it and add saffron essence. You can make this with milk or water but I like to make it with milk as it becomes more rich and creamy for my kiddos. There are many ways to make this delectable sweet, try my version and let me know if you like it.

My hubby loves Shrikhand too and usually goes to a restaurant here in U.S. to satisfy his craving for this delightful dessert. This time I decided to try it at home and to my surprise it came out to be very good. It is a quick and easy dessert and frankly, does not require any cooking skills.
