“Pomegranate raita” is great accompaniment to any Indian meal specially in summers. This is quick and easy to make. If your kids are not fond of fruits then raitas are a great way to make them eat their fruits specially in hot summer months. Pomegranate is a super food and known to cure problems related to the heart, stomach, diabetes, cancer and blood circulation. They are a also powerhouse of vitamin A, C and E. Let’s quickly jump onto the recipe.
Serves: 2-3
Preparation time: 5 mins.
Cooking time: zero mins.
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh curd/ yogurt
½ cup pomegranate
½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder
2 tablespoon sugar or as desired
Salt as required (you can use black salt too)
Directions:
- Wash and peel the pomegranate to separate the seeds.
- Whisk the curd.
- Mix in all ingredients.
- Serve chilled with desired dish.
Tips:
- Keep refrigerated until use so that raita does not turn sour.
- If fasting, use rock salt (sendha namak) instead of normal /black salt.
