“Mango lassi” is a traditional yogurt based drink which has now become very popular with the restaurants. The sweet punjabi lassi is flavoured with ripe mangoes and is so refreshing. It is a nice way to beat the summer heat in India and even elsewhere. So do try it out.
Serves: 3-4
Preparation time: 15 mins.
Cooking time: zero mins.
Ingredients:
1 large ripe mango
2 cups fresh full fat curd (chilled)
½ teaspoon cardamom powder or ½ teaspoon rose water
Sugar or honey as a sweetener as per taste and sweetness of mangoes
Directions:
- Wash and peel the mangoes and cut into cubes.
- Add mangoes to the blender and puree them with sugar, cardamom powder or rose water.
- Add curd to the blender and blend until smooth.
- Transfer to serving glasses and garnish with nuts or mint leaves.
Tips:
- If you do not like thick lassi then add half milk and half curd instead of only curd.
- Use fresh curd and make sure it not sour as you will end up adding more sugar/honey to the lassi and it will loose on the mango flavor.
