“Paneer Bhurji” is one of the easiest paneer recipe, ready in minutes. I often make it for my kiddos and they love it very much. I generally use homemade paneer as it is very soft and already crumbled for this recipe. Homemade paneer can be made while you prepare other ingredients for the bhurji.
Serves: 2-3
Preparation time: 10 mins.
Cooking time: 15 mins.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups or 250 gms. Paneer (crumbled)
1 medium sized onion (finely chopped)
1 medium sized tomato (finely chopped)
1 teaspoon cumin seeds / jeera
2 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
1 green chilli (finely chopped)
1 teaspoon garam masala
¼ teaspoon red chilli powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
¼ teaspoon coriander powder
Salt to taste
Directions:
- Gather all ingredients. Grate the paneer and chop the onions and tomatoes.
- In a non stick pan, heat oil and add in cumin seeds,as they splutter, add in onions. Saute for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn translucent. Now, add in ginger garlic paste and green chilli. Cook for 2 minutes on a low flame.
- Add in chopped tomatoes and fry until they turn mushy and start releasing oil.
- Now, add in red chili powder, turmeric powder,salt, coriander powder and garam masala powder. Mix well.
- Now add crumbled paneer to the onion tomato mixture and cook covered for 3 minutes.
- Do not overcook the paneer as it may turn hard and chewy and we would like a moist paneer bhurji.
- Switch off the flame and garnish with fresh chopped coriander leaves.
- Paneer Bhurji is ready to be served with paratha or roti.
